Weed free in '08

If you would like to be as weed free this year read on.

For the last couple of years I've been working on different techniques to cut down the weed population in my spring plots.  I believe I came up with a way to help.

First I plow or heavy disk my plots as early as the weather will permit, like Febuary or March.  Then I wait for the spring green up to take place allowing the weed seed to germinate and become viable.   Then I will come in with the glysophate and spray down the area two quarts of gly per acre.   Then with a minimal till or perfered no-till put your seed in.  Now your seed will actually get a headstart on the weed seeds in your plot.

food plots essential to you or not
Wondering do you think food plots are essential.  Of course this is each person and their experiences, situations, which will create their opinion.   I live in a heavy agriculture area and I find them useful.  (Of course, I plant them for a living, what else am I going to say.  I still believe in them)  Those some old timers think why should I spend money to feed the deer when they feed them enough.  My, answer is for every ounce I feed them is an ounce they don't.  I have seen food plots strategically placed pull deer off of a been field.
